Homemade Dressing

By: Pam Smith, RDN

Homemade dressings can be simple to make, delicious to taste, and so much better for you! With just a bit of effort, you can whip up delicious homemade versions of your store-bought favorites without all the “extras.” My Versatile Vinaigrette can be transformed to work with any flavor combination by using different spice blends — Citrus Spice is my go-to, with Chili Lime, Creole Kitchen, and Texy Taco all tied for a close second.

Versatile Vinaigrette

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup white balsamic vinegar

  • 1/3 cup orange juice

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

  • 1 teaspoon honey

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

  • 2 teaspoons P.S. Flavor!™ rub or 1 teaspoon P.S. Flavor!™ “Kitchen” blend (adjust to taste)

Method

  1. Mix together vinegar, orange juice, mustard, honey, and spice blend; whisk in olive oil.

  2. Serve with your favorite salad or use as a marinade.
